Mamuka Berdzenishvili, the head of the Tourism Institute, introduced the Tourism 4.0 for the Black Sea project during a significant European congress on the blue economy called Sun & Blue. This project, operating in Batumi, looks at how tourism affects locals, shifting away from the traditional focus solely on tourists. Instead, it prioritizes the interests of local citizens, with support from various stakeholders.
The Tourism 4.0 platform and its impact measurement tool are developed by Arctur, a notable partner of the Tourism Institute based in Slovenia.
